Craig Hall
Chairman & CEO
Craig Hall, CEO and Founder of HALL Group, is a lifelong entrepreneur, New York Times bestselling author, philanthropist, and vintner whose career in real estate spans more than five decades and multiple economic cycles.
Hall entered the real estate world in 1968 at just 18 years old, purchasing a rooming house with $4,000 he saved from various side businesses as a teenager. From those modest beginnings, he built a real estate portfolio that, by the mid-1980s, included the ownership and operation of over 72,000 apartment units across the country. Like many in the industry, he weathered a severe financial downturn from the mid-1980s through the early 1990s, ultimately using that experience to rethink and reshape his business strategy.
Emerging from that period, Hall chose to exit the apartment business, focus more on independent ownership, and shift toward commercial real estate development—particularly office projects. In the mid-1990s, he also launched HALL Structured Finance (HSF), a national lending platform that has since originated over $5 billion in real estate loans, primarily for multifamily and hospitality projects across the U.S.
Today, HALL Group manages a multibillion-dollar loan and real estate portfolio, including a wide range of development assets centered around the greater Dallas market. Hall has been particularly transformative in shaping two signature projects:
HALL Park in Frisco, Texas, a 162-acre development that began as a leading business campus and is now evolving into a vibrant mixed-use community with office, residential, hotel, green space, and public art. Hall’s early investment in Frisco helped catalyze the city’s rise as a major business and lifestyle destination.
HALL Arts in the Dallas Arts District, where he developed a luxury hotel and residential tower that celebrate architecture, design, and culture in one of the country’s most prominent urban arts hubs.
Craig Hall has received numerous honors for his business and civic contributions, including the induction into the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the Junior Achievement of Dallas Business Hall of Fame.
Through all the highs and lows of a long entrepreneurial journey, Hall has stayed grounded in the belief that adaptability, long-term thinking, and people-first values are essential to success in business, and in life.
