1968 - 1980

THE EARLY YEARS

Craig Hall grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and was a prototypical entrepreneur at a young age.

1981 - 1985

Everything's Bigger in Texas

In the early 1980s, the company experienced a period of great growth.

1986 - 1992

The Savings & Loan Crisis

In 1986, banks and savings & loans were dealing with growing defaults on real estate loans due to overbuilding.

1993 - 2000

The Comeback

After surviving the downturn, the company had a platform to begin growing again.

2001 - 2007

A Time For Growth

As Kathryn Walt Hall’s ambassadorship in Austria was coming to an end, the two purchased the Sacrache Vineyards in Napa Valley and entered the winemaking business.

2008 - 2012

The Great Recession and Second Downturn

Analysts, politicians and newscasters had for many years proclaimed that a downturn due to residential housing financing problems would be short-lived. As the name Great Recession would indicate, it turned out to be anything but.

2013 - Today

Looking Towards a Bright Future

In 2019, HALL Group opened the HALL Arts Hotel, a 168-room boutique hotel adjacent to HALL Arts Residences, a 28-story tower compromised of 48 homes that opened in August 2020. Preliminary plans for phase III of development will include a mixed-use project across the street from HALL Arts Hotel and Residences.
